Michael Hogan claimed a match haul of 10 wickets to help Glamorgan thump Kent by an innings and 11 runs for their second County Championship win of the season.

Hogan, the Australian seamer, followed up his 5 for 58 in the first innings with 5 for 67 in the second to finish with match figures of 10 for 125.

Glamorgan wrapped up victory just before the lunch interval as Kent were bowled out for 263. In the end it was a comprehensive victory and will give Glamorgan much confidence for the rest of the championship season.

Glamorgan took a valuable haul of 24 points, to Kent's three, and maximum points helped the Welsh side move up the table from sixth to fourth.

Kent's demise was hastened as early as the 10th ball of the day when they lost Darren Stevens, who had offered some fine resistance on the third evening with a half century. Stevens (60 off 57 balls) drove through the covers and was caught by Ben Wright to give Hogan his eighth wicket of the contest.

Just three overs later, Sam Billings edged a swinging Graham Wagg ball which was caught behind by Mark Wallace. Mitchell Claydon and Adam Ball offered some late order resistance, keeping Glamorgan's attack at bay for 13 overs.

But the introduction of Dean Cosker into the attack did the trick because with his second ball he had Claydon caught at slip for 17.

There was more resistance from Ball, who went to 50 from 79 balls, and Adam Riley, who made an unbeaten 23, until Ball chopped Hogan on to his stumps leaving Kent 241 for 9. With the last pair at the crease the lunch interval was delayed and Hogan claimed his 10th wicket having Robbie Joseph caught at second slip.
