He commenced his cricket in Ipswich and was a member of the Queensland Country Under 19 team in 1985-86, and going on to represent Queensland Under 19, having previously represented Queensland Under 16 in 1982-83. He moved to play in Brisbane with Eastern Suburbs in 1986-87 and appeared for Queensland Colts in 1987-88 and 1988-89 and made a one day appearance for Queensland against Worcestershire in 1988-89. His cricket with Eastern Suburbs (more recently Easts-Redlands and now Redlands) lasted to 1996-97 and for them he recorded 2576 runs at 22.59 and captured 272 wickets at 27.13. In the 1989-90 First Grade grand final he scored 115 not out and captured 6/38 and 5/36 to carry his team to an innings victory over Toombul. Since 1997-98 he has represented South Queensland and Queensland Country, being captain of both teams in each season, twice leading the Queensland Country team to victory in the National Country Championships. In 1998-99 he was appointed captain of the Australia Country team for the match against Sri Lanka played at Barooga. This will be his fourth appearance at the Championships. He was educated at Bundamba State School and Ipswich Grammar School. He is employed in the position of Curator of the St Josephs College sporting complex at Tennyson.
