Profile

A powerful left-hander, Dougherty - nicknamed 'Doc' - smacked a blistering 131 from 137 balls in the 2007 European Under-19 Championship to take Ireland through to a big win over Denmark. He comes from a strong cricketing family; his grandfather, Ivor, was a useful wicketkeeper and his uncle - Decker Curry - played 50 times for Ireland. Kevin Pietersen and Ricky Ponting are his idols, and one of his goals is to play county cricket.
