Profile

James Shannon is a smart, adaptable middle-order batsman who made an unbeaten half-century against Hong Kong in the Under-19 World Cup Qualifying tournament. He started playing cricket when he was 10 and has represented Ireland at Under-13, Under-15s, Under-17s and Under-19s and had a memorable European Under-17 Championship in 2007 with scores of 38, 114 and 86 against Denmark, Netherland and Scotland. His younger brother Sam is also a promising cricketer. James admires the bustling commitment of Michael Hussey and wants to be a sports journalist if he can't be a professional cricketer.
