Profile

If you are cricket fanatic and a billionaire then building your own ground is a must. Allen Stanford did just that on his home island of Antigua, initially a fairly low-key affair for a few hundred spectators. But as his investment piled into the game in the form of the Stanford 20/20s, the ground was expanded to include improved player and media facilities and a grandstand which raised the capacity to around 5000. The main accommodation is still on grassy banks but the facilities are now up there among the best in the Caribbean.
