DLF Cup - Final
Australia won by 127 runs
Played at Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur (neutral venue)
24 September 2006 - day/night match (50-over match)

Bradshaw to Watson, OUT, gone this time. It was a length delivery angling across, Watson doesn't quite manage to shift his balance to his back foot but attempts a forcing shot, and edges it straight to Chris Gayle at first slip. Bradshaw gets his man. A nice probing line and length.

SR Watson c Gayle b Bradshaw 18 (29m 27b 3x4 0x6) SR: 66.66

Australia 24/1   SM Katich 2* (16b)   IDR Bradshaw 4-1-7-1

Taylor to Ponting, OUT, The previous one had kicked up, but this one kept a touch low after landing on a length in the off and middle line. Ponting makes the fatal mistake of going back instead of leaning forward and is surprised by the lack of bounce. He tries to get his bat down in line but as it often happens in such occasions, he brings it across the line and the ball whistles past the desperate wave of the blade and thuds into his back pad.

RT Ponting lbw b Taylor 6 (27m 12b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Australia 37/2   SM Katich 8* (42b)   JE Taylor 1.2-0-3-1

Gayle to Katich, OUT, Katich's painful vigil ends. The ball stops on him after landing on a length just outside the off and Katich goes through with his shot. Ends up scooping it in the air and to long-off where Samuels runs in a few yards and stoops low to take the catch

SM Katich c sub (MN Samuels) b Gayle 25 (101m 66b 1x4 1x6) SR: 37.87

Australia 80/3   DR Martyn 24* (38b 3x4)   CH Gayle 0.4-0-1-1

Bradshaw to Martyn, OUT, Martyn gets under the ball but hits it straight into the waiting palms of Runako Morton at long-off. But he has done his job, 52 from 77 balls with seven fours.

DR Martyn c Morton b Bradshaw 52 (92m 77b 5x4 0x6) SR: 67.53

Australia 153/4   A Symonds 40* (49b 1x4 2x6)   IDR Bradshaw 8.2-2-17-2

Sarwan to Symonds, OUT, Lara's gamble works. Symonds comes down the track and swings over deep backward square-leg but can't beat the man stationed at deep. Crucial breakthrough for West Indies.

A Symonds c Morton b Sarwan 52 (78m 59b 2x4 2x6) SR: 88.13

Australia 173/5   MJ Clarke 8* (9b)   RR Sarwan 1.3-0-7-1

Sarwan to Clarke, OUT, Sarwan's ploy of bowling from round the sticks, and turning it from outside the leg stump works again. Clarke runs down the track, tries to get outside the line and attempts to heave it but gets a top-edge that takes the ball to cover

MJ Clarke c Gayle b Sarwan 23 (32m 24b 0x4 0x6) SR: 95.83

Australia 200/6   MEK Hussey 9* (13b)   RR Sarwan 3.1-0-13-2
