Len Hill was a right-hand middle-order batsman who made his debut for Glamorgan in 1964, but his commitments as a professional footballer meant that he was not able play regularly until 1974. Although he played 76 times for Glamorgan, he never made a hundred, with his best being an unbeaten 96 against Gloucestershire. Two months later he scored 90 against Hampshire, an innings many considered his best as he steered the county to a five-wicket win against a rampaging Andy Roberts. A week later he made another fifty in the return match. As a wing-half, he played for Newport County between 1962 and 1973, with a brief spell at Swansea between 1970-71 and 1971-72.
