Another pre-First War cricketer has departed with the passing of Jack Moore,
who played 15 times for Hampshire between 1910 and 1913. Although returning no
outstanding performances, he had the pleasure of playing cricket with some of the
greats of the Golden Age, including Jessop, who made two centuries in the 1911 match at Southampton, between which C. B. Fry scored 258 not out, batting with Moore at the declaration. His club cricket was played chiefly with Hartley Wintney and Basingstoke.
