Profile

John Swann was a middle-order batsman and legspinner who played four times for Middlesex between 1949 and 1951. Three of those games were against the universities and only one in the Championship - when he played it was as a specialist legspinner. He played for Middlesex 2nd XI through to the mid 1950s and also was active in club cricket, captaining the Club Cricket Conference XI on several occasions. He played for the CCC XI against four touring sides, and made 38* when they beat the Australians by eight wickets at Blackheath in 1961.
