Profile

The youngest batsman to make his first-class debut for Queensland since Martin Love in 1993, opener Matt Renshaw was 18 when he won his first opportunity at Sheffield Shield level at the end of the 2014-15 summer. But it was 2015-16 that became a breakout season for Renshaw, who was Queensland's leading Shield run scorer with 738 at 43.41, including the first two centuries of his first-class career. Born in Middlesbrough in England, Renshaw moved with his family to New Zealand and then to Australia as a child.
