William Benskin was a fast-medium bowler whose first wickets in first-class cricket were a hat-trick: he finished off the Essex first innings on his debut for Leicestershire at Southend in 1906. He played 105 games in all up to 1924 for Leicestershire and, briefly, Scotland.
