NatWest Series [Australia in England] - 2nd ODI

England v Australia

England won by 6 wickets (with 26 balls remaining)

4.1

Finn to Warner, OUT, and there is the wicket! Pulled straight up and into the hands of square leg. It was short and slightly wide, Warner tried to fetch it to leg and was late on the stroke, getting a top edge that looped up to square leg. Big wicket for England and the extra pace of Finn tells again

DA Warner c Bell b Finn 10 (18m 20b 2x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

Australia 15/1   SR Watson 3* (5b)   ST Finn 2.1-0-7-1

14.2

Broad to Forrest, OUT, great catch! And Broad strikes, it was dug in and Forrest looked to pull, it came off the face of the bat and a diving Kieswetter snaffled it with one hand, superb take. Seemed to be beaten for pace there Forrest, he looked to help it on its way but ended up brushing it behind where he was very well taken

PJ Forrest c †Kieswetter b Broad 12 (42m 30b 0x4 0x6) SR: 40.00

Australia 66/2   SR Watson 38* (36b 6x4)   SCJ Broad 2.2-0-12-1

20.3

Bopara to Clarke, OUT, but this is edged behind! Goodness me I did not expect that, a little cutter outside off and Clarke feathers it low to Kieswetter. It was a good length and Clarke pushed at it and got a thing edge through to the keeper, good area from Bopara and a mistake from Clarke

MJ Clarke c †Kieswetter b Bopara 10 (31m 21b 1x4 0x6) SR: 47.61

Australia 101/3   SR Watson 54* (53b 8x4)   RS Bopara 0.3-0-1-1

31.1

Swann to Watson, OUT, lofted, high towards deep midwicket and Finn takes the catch low the ground ... Watson goes! Swann tempted Watson out of his crease, maybe dragged the length down a smidge, the batsman heaved high but it's a long boundary and Finn plunged forward to claim it

SR Watson c Finn b Swann 66 (133m 80b 8x4 0x6) SR: 82.50

Australia 128/4   GJ Bailey 13* (38b)   GP Swann 5.1-0-11-1

44.1

Finn to Hussey, OUT, full and wide, hoicked back at the bowler, who half stops the ball, turns, scrambles, throws at one stump ... and gone! Brilliant work from Finn, leaving Hussey yards short and squeezing the boot back on Australia's collective throat

DJ Hussey run out 29 (57m 37b 1x4 0x6) SR: 78.37

Australia 206/5   GJ Bailey 57* (79b 6x4)   ST Finn 8.1-0-30-1

46.2

Bresnan to Bailey, OUT, another full bunger and bowled 'im! Excellent death delivery from Bresnan, pitched up and asking the batsman to take a chance - Bailey did but his heave-ho was unsuccessful, the timbers sounding a death rattle

GJ Bailey b Bresnan 65 (108m 86b 7x4 0x6) SR: 75.58

Australia 222/6   MS Wade 6* (6b 1x4)   TT Bresnan 6.2-0-37-1

46.5

Bresnan to Wade, OUT, another one down, caught a short fine leg trying to ramp the ball over the infield! Bresnan's length has been hard to hit, Wade tried to improvise but couldn't clear the man. Bresnan looks like a man who's found a twinkie down the back of the sofa

MS Wade c Broad b Bresnan 6 (13m 8b 1x4 0x6) SR: 75.00

Australia 223/7   B Lee 1* (1b)   TT Bresnan 6.5-0-38-2
