Bangladesh in Scotland ODI Match

Scotland v Bangladesh

Match abandoned without a ball bowled

10.45am Good morning and welcome from us at Cricinfo to a very wet Titwood in Glasgow with me, Callum Stewart. We were hoping to bring you ball-by-ball coverage of this ODI between Scotland and Bangladesh but there has been a lot of heavy rain early this morning and the covers are on the square. The groundsmen are hard at work trying to remove as much water from the pitch as possible, however the prospects of play look very slim. The umpires are due to inspect the pitch at 12 noon. More news as we get it.

I've just had a little walk out around the square and there is a lot of water lying around. The groundsmen are working away with the blotters but it looks like a lot of time and work will have to spent to even achieve a 20 over game just now.

Meanwhile, if you're sat there twiddling your thumbs, get involved in the banter on our Facebook page and like some stuff.

12.05pm Well the umpires are walking out to the middle as over the past hour we have just had the odd light shower. There's still a lot of work to be done however and the men in charge have opted for another inspection at 2.00pm. There may be some optimism for a reduced over game later this afternoon if the rain stays away but the covers are staying firmly on the square for the time being.

12.45pm The players were outside for a knock around with the football before lunch and now the rain is back, driving hard and horizontal. Even most of the ground-staff have taken refuge in the pavilion now and the tractor and blotters have been abandoned out in the middle. The wind is picking up too and sandbags are laid out to hold down the sheets. The rain is coming down really hard now and I think both camps are resigned to the fact that there will be no cricket today.

2.00pm The rain is still coming down and the umpires and captains have come to the sensible decision that play has been called off. Scotland will be cursing the heavens that they haven't had a chance to take on some test opposition today but the weather is truly atrocious.

The ground-staff have worked away but there's far too much water out there. The Netherlands are coming tomorrow to play Bangladesh and we are optimistic that if it stays dry between now and tomorrow morning there might be a chance of us getting some cricket.

However the rain continues to fall here at Titwood in Glasgow, do join us here at Cricinfo tomorrow for some ball-by-ball commentary of the ODI between Netherlands and Bangladesh, but for now from me Callum Stewart, goodbye.
