Broad to Kumar, no run, Nearly another wicket... Kumar drives at the first ball he plays, uppishly, and it falls just short of mid-off

Broad to Kumar, no run, takes one on the body here, this is a short ball that doesn't quite rise. Lets it hit his arm. No show of pain

Broad to Kumar, 4 leg byes, that's clever batting - and frankly the only way at the moment for India to get runs. India get four runs because Kumar has not offered a shot here. Is hit in the arm, and the ball lobs over the keeper. What an outdated rule to allow leg-byes for such no-shots

India 115/7   P Kumar 0* (3b)

Broad to Kumar, FOUR, Kumar swings now, and beneficially too, getting under a length ball and clearing mid-on with ease

Broad to Kumar, no run, yorker outside off, Kumar is deep in the crease, digs this one out

Broad to Kumar, 1 run, short, into the ribs, Kumar pushes this towards mid-on, and they rush through for a single

India 128/7   P Kumar 5* (6b 1x4)

Anderson to Kumar, no run, short, but down the leg side, doesn't bother him

Anderson to Kumar, no run, a third time Kumar lets the ball hit him in the arm. Hasn't flinched once

Anderson to Kumar, no run, plays at this one, towards where short leg would have been

Anderson to Kumar, 1 run, No gully! No gully! They are trying to have him fend at deliveries, but they don't have a gully. This would have gone down the said fielder's lap. Instead they get a single, although Kumar has to be woken up for it

India 129/7   P Kumar 6* (10b 1x4)

Anderson to Kumar, no run, he fends this one, but keeps it down. Too many short-pitched deliveries for my liking. They have got wickets pitching the ball up

India 150/7   P Kumar 6* (11b 1x4)

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, another bouncer, Kumar ducks under it

Bresnan to Kumar, FOUR, short and wide, Kumar goes to meet the ball away from the body, but hits it off the sweet part of the bat, and gets four runs in front of square

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, short again, Kumar is behind it in defence

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, another bouncer that fails to involve Kumar

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, Kumar takes another blow on that arm. This is the fourth according to my count. But he is not flinching, and keeps getting the odd leg-byes

India 155/7   P Kumar 10* (16b 2x4)

Swann to Kumar, no run, high back lift, but defends it back

Swann to Kumar, no run, nicely tossed up, Kumar is fighting temptation, but defends in the end

Swann to Kumar, 1 run, this time it is pitched close enough for him to have a go, drills this along the ground to long-on

India 157/7   P Kumar 11* (19b 2x4)

Bresnan to Kumar, 1 run, another short ball, Kumar is behind it, and picks an easy single into the covers

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, another bouncer, looks to let it hit his arm, but this one takes the handle of the bat, down onto the pad

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, fends this after moving across, keeping it down

India 159/7   P Kumar 12* (22b 2x4)

Swann to Kumar, FOUR, Phew... that's murdered! This was tossed up for him to have a go, an Kumar lofted it right over Swann's head. Long-on, long-off don't matter. Fifty of the partnership

Swann to Kumar, FOUR, this is a top shot because he has been beaten in the flight and then flicks it through covers. And the timing is good again

Swann to Kumar, no run, back to forward defensive now

Swann to Kumar, no run, offbreak, too straight, Kumar defends this to short leg

India 168/7   P Kumar 20* (26b 4x4)

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, that's a short one into the chest/ribs area, Kumar fends at this, it goes uppishly off the glove, but towards cover and not towards short leg

India 177/7   P Kumar 20* (27b 4x4)

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, first rash shot from Kumar, backs away and pulls, but it falls safe towards mid-on

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, gets under this bouncer

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, gets inside the line of this short delivery, plays it towards where leg slip would be. Came off the thigh I think

Bresnan to Kumar, 1 leg bye, gets inside the line again, gets a leg-bye to fine leg

Bresnan to Kumar, no run, short ball, too far down the leg side

India 183/7   P Kumar 20* (32b 4x4)

Swann to Kumar, no run, Kumar is itching to come down the wicket, is not close to it, but lets it hit the pad

Swann to Kumar, SIX, He has cleared long-on! England on the back foot here, and this partnership is hurting them. Swings at this with the turn, makes sweet connection, and the long-on is just a spectator

Swann to Kumar, no run, sharp offbreak, beats Pk, but is headed down the leg side

Swann to Kumar, no run, pushed to cover

Swann to Kumar, no run, stretches right forward to defend this to off

India 190/7   P Kumar 26* (37b 4x4 1x6)

Bresnan to Kumar, 4 byes, just as I say that, he bowls a horror delivery for Prior. From wide of the crease, short down the crease, going away and away

Bresnan to Kumar, OUT, Review time. And Strauss has made a second excellent review today. Kumar makes a belated decision to hook this one, gets a faint faint edge that the umpire doesn't pick. Prior is convinced, and Strauss makes the time-out signal. Rightly, the decision is overturned. Kumar has played an important hand, though
