India in England T20I Match - Only T20I

England v India

England won by 6 wickets (with 3 balls remaining)

0.1

Bresnan to PA Patel, FOUR, he's a punchy player who loves to go after anything off-line. Just like that. Short and wide outside off, the pitch is really slow and the ball sits up for Parthiv to slam away to the left of cover for four.

India 5/0   PA Patel 4* (1b 1x4)   TT Bresnan 0.1-0-5-0

1.2

Dernbach to Rahane, FOUR, not a bad way to get your first runs for India! Rahane stands up, opens the wrists and hoists a back of length ball majestically over cover-point,. Solid wrist work there.

India 11/0   AM Rahane 4* (3b 1x4)   JW Dernbach 0.2-0-4-0

2.2

Bresnan to Rahane, FOUR, hooka! An Indian batsman who plays the hook. Short ball going down the leg side, Rahane goes up and over, almost all the way over fine leg. A touch of top edge in that, but he picked up the gap well.

India 18/0   AM Rahane 10* (7b 2x4)   TT Bresnan 1.2-0-10-0

2.4

Bresnan to PA Patel, FOUR, 138 kph, short and quick, Parthiv was really late on that but went for the pull nevertheless, with a vengeance. It took a healthy top edge and flew over slip's head.

India 23/0   PA Patel 10* (8b 2x4)   TT Bresnan 1.4-0-15-0

3.2

Broad to Rahane, FOUR, take that! Broad tries a bit of old-school enforcing. Short and aimed at the head, but it was going down the leg side. Rahane pounces on it with another very good-looking pull. It lands just short of the fence at deep backward square leg.

India 29/0   AM Rahane 17* (10b 3x4)   SCJ Broad 0.2-0-6-0

3.4

Broad to Rahane, FOUR, Broad needs a reworking of the lines here. Another one on the pads, and Rahane is putting on display a flick that has class written all over it. This could be one of the defining strokes in Indian cricket in the coming years.

India 33/0   AM Rahane 21* (12b 4x4)   SCJ Broad 0.4-0-10-0

4.1

Dernbach to Rahane, FOUR, The Indians have arrived. Four Tests late, but finally they might just be here. Rahane sets himself up, eyes a short ball from Dernbach and slams it mighty over midwicket.

India 38/0   AM Rahane 26* (14b 5x4)   JW Dernbach 1.1-0-11-0

5.5

Broad to Rahane, FOUR, this time he latches on. He's going after these fastish short balls and getting away with them. Pulled away high and easy over square leg.

India 45/1   AM Rahane 31* (18b 6x4)   SCJ Broad 1.5-0-16-0

5.6

Broad to Rahane, FOUR, Ok, not a good over for England any more! Rahane is taking them on here. He marches out of the crease this time and scythes Broad on the up over the covers.

India 49/1   AM Rahane 35* (19b 7x4)   SCJ Broad 2-0-20-0

7.3

Swann to Rahane, FOUR, the Rahane exhibition continues. India's got talent. He skips out again, gets close to the pitch and then does some subcontinental magic with the wrists to send the ball packing through the covers.

India 61/1   AM Rahane 44* (24b 8x4)   GP Swann 0.3-0-6-0

13.1

Swann to Raina, FOUR, he got out to Swann 3 times in the Tests, including for a pair at the Oval, but he's hit him for four straight away here. Lovely shot too, he chips out, gets to the flight and drives him inside out through cover.

India 114/4   SK Raina 5* (2b 1x4)   GP Swann 2.1-0-22-0

14.4

Broad to Raina, FOUR, lovely little dab from Raina. Short ball outside off, he waits for it, opens the face and guides it expertly to third man.

India 127/5   SK Raina 17* (8b 2x4 1x6)   SCJ Broad 3.4-0-35-2

17.3

Dernbach to Dhoni, FOUR, brutal. Dhoni lines up a length ball angling into him and bottom-hands the life out of it. It nearly sails all the way over midwicket despite never taking off.

India 158/5   MS Dhoni 8* (7b 1x4)   JW Dernbach 2.3-0-17-1

17.5

Dernbach to Ashwin, FOUR, and he's away with four. Fast and short outside off, Ashwin just waits for it to pass him and angles it along to third man.

India 162/6   R Ashwin 4* (1b 1x4)   JW Dernbach 2.5-0-21-2
