On a day when England dominated India on the field, Dhoni dominates the stats pages

349 Number of runs that MS Dhoni has scored in the Investec Test series. This is the most runs that he has made in a single series, surpassing the 326 he scored against Australia in India last year.

704 Number of balls faced by Dhoni in this series. This is by far the most balls that he has faced in a single series. His previous highest was the 481 balls that he faced during England's tour to India in 2012.

55.41 Percentage of team runs scored by Dhoni in India's first innings - 82 out of 148. This is the first time that an Indian captain has scored more than 50% of his team's runs in a Test innings. Including non-captains, this is the sixth highest percentage contribution by an Indian batsman in a completed innings. Across countries, this is also the fifth highest percentage contribution to team runs by a player batting at No. 6 or lower.

14 Number of ducks scored by Indian batsmen in this series, including two in the first innings of this Test. England's batsmen have scored only three ducks in the series - all three by allrounder Ben Stokes.

4 Number of times that India have lost six wickets for less than 50 runs during a Test in England. The last time that this happened was during the famous 42-all-out at Lord's in 1974.

58 Number of runs posted by Dhoni and Ishant Sharma for the tenth wicket during India's first innings. This is the first time that an Indian tenth wicket pair has posted a 50-plus partnership after having lost the first nine wickets for less than 100 runs.

466 Number of runs scored by tenth wicket partnerships in this series. This is a record for the most tenth-wicket runs in a series, going past the 458 scored by tenth-wicket pairs during the 1924-25 Ashes.

13 Number of times that India have been bowled out for less than 150 runs in England. The last time this happened was at Lord's in 1982. In the 30 years between 1950 and 1980, India faced this ignominy on nine occasions. Since then, this has only happened twice, including today.

8 Number of fifties scored by Dhoni in England, which equals the most by a batsman who has not scored a century there. The great former Australia allrounder Monty Noble also has eight fifties in England without a century. Dhoni's 12 fifties against England is also a record for the most fifties against a single opposition without scoring a hundred.
