Pakistan in England Test Series - 2nd Test

England v Pakistan

England won by 9 wickets

Overs 0-50

7.5

Broad to Imran Farhat, OUT, gone! First wicket falls as Farhat tickles a catch through from a ball that simply pitched on line, angled across the left-hander and was full enough to make him play - an easy catch for Prior

Imran Farhat c †Prior b Broad 0 (30m 24b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 8/1   Salman Butt 6* (24b 1x4)   SCJ Broad 3.5-2-2-1

13.1

Finn to Salman Butt, OUT, there's the wicket, Finn gets rid of Butt. A good length angled across Butt, who drives rather limply, really, and it's a thick edge easily taken at second slip

Salman Butt c Swann b Finn 7 (55m 40b 1x4 0x6) SR: 17.50

Pakistan 9/2   Azhar Ali 0* (16b)   ST Finn 1.1-1-0-1

14.2

Anderson to Shoaib Malik, OUT, what a catch from Prior! Pitched up by Anderson, drawing Malik forward and swinging away late to take a thick edge. The ball flew towards first slip, but was dipping and wouldn't have reached him... and so Prior leapt across to snatch the chance inches from the ground. Another one bites the dust...

Shoaib Malik c †Prior b Anderson 3 (6m 4b 0x4 0x6) SR: 75.00

Pakistan 12/3   Azhar Ali 0* (19b)   JM Anderson 7.2-4-6-1

18.5

Broad to Azhar Ali, OUT, Broad gets one to jag back sharply off the seam to strike Ali on the front pad, big appeal, and Steve Davis gives him out! Ali briefly thinks about referring it, consulting with Umar but then trudging sadly off for a 32-ball duck. Even if he had referred it, the decision would have stood. He was struck on the line of off stump, and the so the umpire's call could not be over-turned

Azhar Ali lbw b Broad 0 (53m 32b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 29/4   Umar Akmal 16* (14b 1x4 1x6)   SCJ Broad 6.5-5-9-2

23.6

Finn to Umar Akmal, OUT, this one keeps low and moves sharply in off the seam to hit Umar on the back pad. He's given out lbw, and decides not to refer the decision. Why? He was hit well outside the line, and though the ball would've hit the stumps the referral would've saved him. He did look plumb first up, but surely they should at least have tried the referral. Too late now, he's gone

Umar Akmal lbw b Finn 17 (45m 29b 1x4 1x6) SR: 58.62

Pakistan 33/5   Umar Amin 3* (16b)   ST Finn 7-2-10-2

24.3

Broad to Zulqarnain Haider, OUT, Haider goes first ball! Back of a length from Broad, the ball didn't move too much but the line and length were spot on. Haider just pushed at it tentatively, got a little feather to it, and Prior snaffles the regulation chance. Pakistan in disarray! Haider just walks off, not even considering the referral. He must've known that he hit it. Carnage!

Zulqarnain Haider c †Prior b Broad 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 36/6   Umar Amin 6* (18b)   SCJ Broad 9.3-7-12-3

34.3

Broad to Umar Amin, OUT, oh dear, Amin has gone! He was starting to look positive, but a thick edge is really well snapped up by Collingwood hurling himself to his right at third slip, great catch

Umar Amin c Collingwood b Broad 23 (69m 47b 3x4 0x6) SR: 48.93

Pakistan 63/7   Mohammad Amir 9* (31b 1x4)   SCJ Broad 14.3-7-32-4

35.6

Anderson to Umar Gul, OUT, and there's another one! Anderson was just pitching it up, tempting Gul to drive and he's gone after it, with a thick edge flying away to Pietersen at gully

Umar Gul c Pietersen b Anderson 0 (5m 8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 64/8   Mohammad Amir 10* (32b 1x4)   JM Anderson 13-6-19-2

37.2

Anderson to Mohammad Amir, OUT, wonderful catch! Amir tries for the big aerial off drive again, but doesn't time it and Cook runs back from mid-off with the flight of the ball, keeps his eye on the ball all the way and eventually has to dive to complete the catch, really well done

Mohammad Amir c Cook b Anderson 12 (56m 39b 1x4 0x6) SR: 30.76

Pakistan 67/9   Saeed Ajmal 1* (1b)   JM Anderson 13.2-6-20-3

39.3

Anderson to Mohammad Asif, OUT, There it is - Anderson finishes with four. A straight bouncer was too much for Asif to handle, it lobbed off the shoulder of the bat to Pietersen at gully

Mohammad Asif c Pietersen b Anderson 0 (4m 5b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 72/10   Saeed Ajmal 5* (9b 1x4)   JM Anderson 14.3-6-20-4
