England beat India by an innings in 2011 and 2014, but lost by those margins against South Africa and Australia in 2012 and 2015. The only other game was a draw against Australia in 2013. In their last seven Tests at The Oval, England have never won, lost or drawn two in succession. Their sequence of results (latest match first) is: LWDLWLW.

862 Runs for Alastair Cook from 18 Test innings at The Oval, at an average of 47.88. The only venue where he has scored more Test runs is at Lord's - 1746 from 40 innings. One of his two hundreds at The Oval was against Pakistan in 2010.
33.51 James Anderson's bowling average in Tests at The Oval, his poorest at a home venue. In 10 Tests here he has taken 35 wickets with no five-wicket hauls; his best is 4 for 52 against West Indies in 2004. In his last seven Tests here, only twice has he taken more than two wickets in an innings. Stuart Broad's average here is similar - 32.44 in eight Tests.
