Bresnan to Smith, OUT, yes Bresnan can! Flicked to backward square leg! Terrible error from Smith, a full leg stump ball and he's tucked it straight to the fielder, a disaster for Smith and finally England break through after 10 hours and 3 minutes in this series. You have to say it's a wicket largely undeserved from the way England have bowled since lunch

GC Smith c Bell b Bresnan 52 (170m 93b 4x4 0x6) SR: 55.91

South Africa 120/1   AN Petersen 66* (131b 8x4)   TT Bresnan 6.2-1-26-1

Broad to Petersen, 2 runs, OUT, never mind false shots, he's run himself out! Petersen punched Broad through the covers - a misfield had left the bowler fuming - but as the opener trotted back for a comfortable third, Amla hesitated, realised he had to go and was run out by the throw from the boundary!

HM Amla run out 9 (17m 14b 2x4 0x6) SR: 64.28

South Africa 132/2   AN Petersen 69* (134b 8x4)   SCJ Broad 8.1-1-31-0

Anderson to Kallis, OUT, slashed, edged and Cook has clung on to a blinder! Kallis has largely eschewed playing at balls outside off, this one wasn't quite roomy enough to cut and a top edge squirted low to second slip, where Cook, plunging to his right, managed to cushion the ball into his grasp millimetres above the ground

JH Kallis c Cook b Anderson 19 (38m 30b 4x4 0x6) SR: 63.33

South Africa 157/3   AN Petersen 75* (162b 8x4)   JM Anderson 14.5-2-35-1

Broad to de Villiers, OUT, gone, played on! After ball-upon-ball of solid defensive work, de Villiers is a bit late getting his bat down, leaving a slight gap and cannoning the ball down on to his off stump. England have broken through late on, though another South African has played a part in their dismissal

AB de Villiers b Broad 47 (134m 107b 9x4 0x6) SR: 43.92

South Africa 254/4   AN Petersen 119* (254b 15x4)   SCJ Broad 20-4-54-1

Finn to Steyn, OUT, bowled him, neck and crop! That was a Vanish delivery from Finn and the Steyn is removed! Pitched up slightly, holding its line and clattering into the top of off

DW Steyn b Finn 0 (9m 6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

South Africa 259/5   AN Petersen 123* (261b 16x4)   ST Finn 20.1-2-77-1

Pietersen to Rudolph, OUT, Pietersen strikes with his second ball, Rudolph failing to get his foot back over the line! KP got BIG turn (are you watching Swanny) and Rudolph leaned too far out trying to defend. Prior whips off the bails and after the third umpire had a long look at it, he decided that Rudolph hadn't quite managed to get a stud back in the crease

JA Rudolph st †Prior b Pietersen 19 (111m 74b 3x4 0x6) SR: 25.67

South Africa 318/6   AN Petersen 162* (338b 21x4)   KP Pietersen 0.2-0-0-1

Broad to Petersen, OUT, gone! Is it? England think it's caught behind. Given not out by Rod Tucker and Strauss reviews straight away. Hot Spot shows a big edge. Clearly out. Petersen is finally dislodged. Another nice delivery from Broad which decked away late as Petersen pushed firmly at it

AN Petersen c †Prior b Broad 182 (533m 365b 23x4 0x6) SR: 49.86

South Africa 353/7   JP Duminy 14* (35b 2x4)   SCJ Broad 29.4-8-76-2
126.5

Finn to Philander, OUT, England chip away. The short ball works (eventually) as Philander goes for a pull and doesn't keep it down. Not sure he even tried to keep it down and the catch is easily taken at deep square-leg by Bresnan, who gets a big cheer from the Yorkshire crowd

VD Philander c Bresnan b Finn 13 (24m 20b 3x4 0x6) SR: 65.00

South Africa 375/8   JP Duminy 23* (52b 3x4)   ST Finn 28.5-3-101-2
136.2

Broad to Morkel, OUT, there he goes, lofting to mid-off. Morkel was keen to have a swing but his aerial drive didn't come off the middle and looped tamely to Alastair Cook

M Morkel c Cook b Broad 19 (42m 27b 3x4 0x6) SR: 70.37

South Africa 414/9   JP Duminy 43* (82b 5x4)   SCJ Broad 33.2-9-92-3
139.2

Anderson to Imran Tahir, OUT, that'll do it, Tahir pushing at another regulation corridor botherer, a thick edge flying low to second slip, where Cook bags it. Never mind about Petersen, Cook's caught three!

Imran Tahir c Cook b Anderson 0 (14m 6b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

South Africa 419/10   JP Duminy 48* (94b 6x4)   JM Anderson 33.2-10-61-2
