NatWest Series [South Africa in England] - 4th ODI

England v South Africa

England won by 6 wickets (with 20 balls remaining)

19.1

Dernbach to Smith, OUT, edged and finally England take a chance as Smith top edges a pull through to the keeper. It was a quick bumper that surprised Smith a little, he got in no position to pull to leg and was late on the stroke and got a healthy top edge that Kieswetter took above his head

GC Smith c †Kieswetter b Dernbach 29 (86m 54b 2x4 0x6) SR: 53.70

South Africa 68/1   HM Amla 36* (61b 2x4 1x6)   JW Dernbach 3.1-0-18-1

24.3

Bopara to Amla, OUT, cleaned him up! Bit of surprise this, Bopara has tailed one past the attempted off drive of Amla and scattered his stumps. Full and straight, moved in a little and Amla, driving a little loosely was done between bat and pad, middle and leg skittled

HM Amla b Bopara 45 (111m 73b 3x4 1x6) SR: 61.64

South Africa 100/2   JP Duminy 17* (20b 3x4)   RS Bopara 3.3-0-10-1

25.3

Tredwell to Duminy, OUT, beautifully bowled and Duminy is done like a kipper floated up, Duminy is drawn out of his ground, doesn't get to the pitch and the turn past the attempted flick provides the simplest of stumping chances for Kieswetter, superbly bowled by Tredwell

JP Duminy st †Kieswetter b Tredwell 18 (31m 22b 3x4 0x6) SR: 81.81

South Africa 106/3   AB de Villiers 5* (4b)   JC Tredwell 1.3-0-7-1

28.4

Bopara to du Plessis, OUT, back to guide to third man and played on trying to run it down to third man, tried to play it like de Villiers but forgot his name is Faf, inside edge onto the stump, almost got down on one knee there and again Bopara's drift into the right hander is decisive

F du Plessis b Bopara 1 (11m 8b 0x4 0x6) SR: 12.50

South Africa 115/4   AB de Villiers 13* (15b 1x4)   RS Bopara 5.4-0-22-2

40.4

Tredwell to de Villiers, OUT, advances to play an expansive drive and is stumped! Tredwell maybe dragged the line a bit wider, pushed it through a bit quicker and Kieswetter was quick to pull off his second stumping, de Villiers unable to get his big toe back across the line

AB de Villiers st †Kieswetter b Tredwell 39 (66m 46b 2x4 0x6) SR: 84.78

South Africa 166/5   D Elgar 23* (41b)   JC Tredwell 5.4-0-22-2

43.2

Tredwell to Parnell, OUT, more big turn and another stumping. Once again Tredwell draws a batsman to drive outside off, the turn beats the outside edge, the back foot slips outside the popping crease and Kieswetter does the rest, lovely stuff from Tredwell

WD Parnell st †Kieswetter b Tredwell 5 (12m 13b 0x4 0x6) SR: 38.46

South Africa 174/6   D Elgar 25* (44b)   JC Tredwell 6.2-0-22-3

48.5

Finn to Elgar, OUT, short, goes for the pull and gets a glove to the keeper. Tried to help a slower-ball bouncer around the corner but got there too early and provided a simple chance to Kieswetter

D Elgar c †Kieswetter b Finn 35 (86m 59b 1x4 0x6) SR: 59.32

South Africa 214/7   RJ Peterson 29* (18b 4x4 1x6)   ST Finn 9.5-0-32-1

48.6

Finn to McLaren, 1 run, OUT, angled in and comes off the pads, cry for lbw, it runs to third man and as they come back for the second, third man has thrown down the stumps and Ryan McLaren is gone. Great work from Dernbach charging in off the boundary, a low, flat throw connects and finally England do something right in the field

R McLaren run out 1 (2m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 100.00

South Africa 215/8   RJ Peterson 29* (18b 4x4 1x6)   ST Finn 10-0-33-1
