Anderson to Powell, OUT, this is the inswinger and bowls him! Powell thought of leaving again and was so late on it, lost his off stump. Anderson set him up beautifully with consecutive deliveries that angled away, Powell shaped to ignore another but it swung in and the defensive stroke got nowhere near the ball which clattered into the top of off stump

KOA Powell b Anderson 5 (36m 29b 1x4 0x6) SR: 17.24

West Indies 13/1   AB Barath 8* (24b 2x4)   JM Anderson 4.5-2-8-1

Anderson to KA Edwards, OUT, full and beats the attempted flick across the line, that's plumb and England have a second before drinks. Stone dead, simply missed one that darted in trying to play to leg. Wasn't a great stroke and Edwards didn't look too comfortable. Well bowled Anderson

KA Edwards lbw b Anderson 1 (26m 14b 0x4 0x6) SR: 7.14

West Indies 32/2   AB Barath 21* (47b 5x4)   JM Anderson 7.5-4-17-2

Broad to Barath, OUT, and Barath's life is extended by only a couple of balls, as Anderson takes the catch in the gully at the second attempt! The delivery wasn't full enough to drive and Barath's expansive stroke resulted in only a thick edge, which Anderson parried into the air goalkeeper-style before grasping on the way down. Rash shot from Barath, after a very encouraging knock

AB Barath c Anderson b Broad 42 (136m 101b 9x4 0x6) SR: 41.58

West Indies 86/3   DM Bravo 27* (51b 4x4)   SCJ Broad 10-2-32-1

Swann to Chanderpaul, OUT, a horrendous mix-up and Bravo has been run out! The Keystone Kops would have been embarrassed by running like that. Chanderpaul flicked the ball off his legs, where it was quickly fielded behind square. Bravo was well down the pitch before he realised that Chanderpaul was having none of it, even though the junior man was running to the danger end ... the throw wasn't great but Chanderpaul had already elected to return his crease (though he only just got his bat in before Bravo) and despite a dodgy relay from Prior to Swann, there was all the time in the world for the bowler to collect and break the bails. Prior had covered his face with his gloves but it was far worse to watch from the Windies point of view!

DM Bravo run out 29 (105m 74b 4x4 0x6) SR: 39.18

West Indies 100/4   S Chanderpaul 11* (25b 2x4)   GP Swann 4-1-8-0

Broad to Samuels, OUT, just as things were looking quiet Samuels scoops a loose drive straight to Bairstow standing at point! Too quiet perhaps, for Samuels, who undoes his good work in the same fashion as Barath with a loose shot. West Indies are still in a favourable position, having lost the toss, but that will give England a sniff

MN Samuels c Bairstow b Broad 31 (110m 84b 4x4 0x6) SR: 36.90

West Indies 181/5   S Chanderpaul 60* (107b 9x4)   SCJ Broad 16.4-3-49-2

Broad to Ramdin, OUT, gone, edging to slip! Broad pulled his length back a fraction, Ramdin couldn't get forward as confidently and ended up fencing at the ball, a textbook snick flying into the cordon, where Strauss gleefully clings on. I'll stop mentioning how well the Windies are doing now, shall I?

D Ramdin c Strauss b Broad 6 (6m 5b 1x4 0x6) SR: 120.00

West Indies 187/6   S Chanderpaul 60* (113b 9x4)   SCJ Broad 17.3-4-55-3

Broad to Sammy, OUT, caught in the gully! Totally square up and pops a catch to Bresnan who claimed it low with two hands. Sammy's ended up pirouetting having looked to clip a length ball to leg, he pops it to gully of a thick leading edge, chance for England now to rip out this tail with the new ball

DJG Sammy c Bresnan b Broad 17 (50m 36b 3x4 0x6) SR: 47.22

West Indies 219/7   S Chanderpaul 75* (152b 10x4)   SCJ Broad 21-5-60-4

Broad to Roach, OUT, chipped back to the bowler and taken really well tumbling to his left. Pretty poor stroke, another one of those feetless drives, this comes off a little high on the bat and just pops back towards Broad who claims a smart catch for his five-wicket haul. Full and straight and let it swing - simple cricket has produced dividends today for Broad

KAJ Roach c & b Broad 6 (15m 7b 1x4 0x6) SR: 85.71

West Indies 231/8   S Chanderpaul 77* (164b 10x4)   SCJ Broad 22.1-5-63-5

Broad to FH Edwards, OUT, finally Edwards nicks one, full and straight and it pays off in the end. A decent edge is going straight to Andrew Strauss at first slip but Matt Prior dives in front of him and takes it with a full-length dive, a fine catch. Little nudge forward from Edwards, he had to get an edge sooner or later, and this one he does

FH Edwards c †Prior b Broad 2 (19m 16b 0x4 0x6) SR: 12.50

West Indies 243/9   S Chanderpaul 87* (175b 12x4)   SCJ Broad 24.4-6-72-6

Broad to Gabriel, OUT, out first ball! Just what England wanted and Broad has seven wickets in a Test innings for the first time. Perfect start. On a length, just outside off, Gabriel plopped a bat at it and got a healthy edge at a good height for Swann who took a chance as easy as they come. Ideal delivery and an ideal start to the day for the hosts

ST Gabriel c Swann b Broad 0 (1m 1b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00
