Major Sir Christopher Magnay played twice for Cambridge University and once for Middlesex as well as several other games for MCC> His only fifty came against his old university for MCC. He played for Suffolk and served in the Norfolk Yeomanry inn the Great War winning the MC and was High Sheriff of Suffolk in 1935.
