Profile

Chathura Peiris is an allrounder who has opened the bowling for Sri Lanka Under-19s. He was the leading wicket-taker with 11 wickets in the series against Bangladesh U-19 in May 2009. He made his domestic Twenty20 debut in 2008 for Schools Invitation XI. He was part of the squad for the 2008 U-19 World Cup and named captain for the next edition in New Zealand two years later. He guided his team to the semi-finals and finished the overall second-highest wicket-taker with 13 wickets. He hopes to play professionally and if not, plans to take up coaching.
