The ECB Medical team today confirmed that the Lancashire and England all-rounder Andrew Flintoff will undergo a hernia operation tomorrow.

Flintoff is to miss around four weeks cricket and will be unavailable for the final npower Test at The AMP Oval next week and England's trip to Sri Lanka for the ICC Champions Trophy this autumn.

He is, however, expected to be fit for England's tour of Australia this winter. England are due to fly out to Australia on October 17th for a five-Test Series and a triangular One-Day Series involving the hosts and Sri Lanka.
