England players will rejoin their counties this week to compete in the Frizzell Women's County Championship, following the conclusion of the women's one-day international series which saw New Zealand beat England in the final.

At the end of the Frizzell Women's County Championship, England selectors will name the Test squad to face India in the two match series, which begins at Shenley Cricket Ground on 8th August.

The Championship, celebrating it's 21st anniversary, runs from Saturday 27th - 31st July at the University Grounds, Cambridge.

Current champions Yorkshire return to Cambridge to defend their title with England's most experienced player, Clare Taylor MBE, leading the bowling attack having become the first English woman to take 100 international wickets against India this summer.

England Captain, Clare Connor, will face her as Sussex play in Division One following their promotion last season. Connor said: "Five matches in five days leads to some intense and exciting cricket. It's a great year for the Championship as it celebrates 21 years at Cambridge in the current format and welcomes Frizzell as the first ever sponsor of the tournament."

Connor is joined in the Sussex team by England wicket keeper Mandie Godliman and Caroline Atkins, who broke the world Test record for an opening partnership in India earlier this year by posting 200 with Lancashire's Arran Thompson.

Two young England players who shined throughout the ODI series, Laura Spragg from Yorkshire and Isa Guha from Berkshire, will also face Division One competition.

There are three divisions of six teams in the tournament, which is run on a round-robin basis within each division, with relegation and promotion for the teams finishing top and bottom. All matches are 50 over a side, one-day games.

Durham join Division Three for the first time this year following their win in the Emerging Counties tournament last year. The growth of the women's game, which has seen numbers of participants double in the past two years, means another new county will qualify for the Championship next year.

Division 1 Berkshire Nottinghamshire Staffordshire Surrey Sussex Yorkshire

Division 2 Derbyshire Hertfordshire Kent Lancashire Middlesex Somerset
