In the latest round of National League matches, Surrey managed a close - and crucial - win against Kent by four wickets with Adam Hollioake guiding them to victory with an unbeaten 41. Elsewhere, Northants continued their good form with a convincing win over Hampshire at the Rose Bowl, and there was an easy win for Lancashire as well. They brushed aside Essex by seven wickets at Old Trafford, despite an unbeaten hundred from Ronnie Irani. In Division Two, Sussex beat Derbyshire in a low-scoring match thanks to Mark Davis taking 4 for 40, and Durham scraped home by one wicket against Middlesex with Gareth Breese scoring 52 not out.
