The England winter training squad has been announced - there is no place for Ashes winner Jo Watts, while Nikki Shaw is injured

The England winter training squad has been announced. There is no place for Jo Watts, while Nikki Shaw is injured. Ebony Rainford-Brent, of Surrey, has been struggling with injuries, but she has now recovered and will join the squad for their training sessions at Loughborough.
An 18-player Academy squad has also been announced. The squad is a group of players selected from a varied age range, a group of highly talented players who the selectors believe have the potential to develop into world-class players. During the winter various Academy sessions will be held at Loughborough, some will be general but others may be on specific areas of the game.
In addition to the Loughborough sessions, small group sessions will be held in the regions to give the players additional intensive training. These sessions will be lead by coaches who already work with the most talented players in Super 4s and regional training - Charlotte Dickenson, Paul Shaw, Alan Duncan and Jan Brittin.
