England Under-19s 28 for 2 trail South Africa Under-19s 433 (Roelofsen 149, Rickleton 76, Shaw 6-103) by 405 runs
South Africa Under-19s moved ahead on a rain-hit second day of their first Youth Test against England Under-19s. Grant Roelofsen completed his century and made it a big one as the visitors posted 433, after which the hosts lost two wickets to end the day 405 runs behind.
Roelofsen and captain Sibonelo Makhanya began with the score on 268 for 4 and stretched their partnership to 135 before the latter fell for 56. Andile Phehlukwayo joined Roelofsen and they took the score past 400. South Africa were 402 for 5 but lost their last five wickets for 31 to Josh Shaw, who finished with 6 for 103. It was Phehlukwayo's fall for 50 that started the collapse and Roelofsen departed next ball for 149.
Phehlukwayo and Makhanya then picked up a wicket each as England crawled to 28 for 2 in 19.5 overs.
