The bat with which Gary Sobers made history is to be auctioned. It was on August 31st 1968 that Sobers, playing for Nottinghamshire against Glamorgan at Swansea, struck a world record six sixes in an over off the unfortunate Malcolm Nash with a short handled Slazenger bat.
The auction will be held at Christie's in Melbourne on 4th October. The bat is expected to fetch up to £45,000.
