February 9, 2001
The BCCSL, the Sri Lankan cricket board, met the England coach Duncan Fletcher and discussed an incident involving Darren Gough and members of the Colts XI during the two-day game at Moratuwa.
Duncan Fletcher said: "Darren reacted to derogatory remarks made by the opposition after being given out. He has not been reprimanded and the BCCSL has made no formal complaint about the matter.
"I have, however, reminded all the England players of their responsibilities in this area as we want to ensure that the forthcoming test and one-day series is played in the proper spirit."
