Although I appreciate what George says and agree in that I'd pick Trott in my Champions Trophy side but it doesn't mean he's beyond reproach. I will say that in the past year he has a strike rate of 67, even with 2 new balls is poor. For all his merits and he has many, he has a huge problem with upping his strike rate when it's needed, especially when we're setting a target, which Trott is quite poor at imo. I also have no problem with him going along at his normal rate but there are many times where he's needed to up it but he just can't. The other thing that sort annoys me with him, is that when we lose a wicket with him there, he never takes the pressure off the new batsman, with often the consequence is that the new batsman feels that he has to make the running and loses his wicket. What Trott does is not take any risks, it's why he has such an healthy average, which is a bit of a red herring in a way because if other players went at his strike rate they'd personally average more.
