Interesting discussion however it would have been nice to have an Indian point of view. Additionally I do not agree with ur example about the US and the sports it plays. In fact I am sure india can stop playing with the world and still exist and make a lot more money. Look at the NFL. Also players from around the world will play in the IPL cause of the amount of money they can make so it will still be competitive. All India then has to do is figure out is how to make an IPL season last longer, answer do what the NFL did play on the weekends and one day during the week. Food for thought.

Crazy, that you mention IPL and Pakistan in the same sentence, can we please all update ourselves, Pakistan does not play in the IPL, and is basically not allowed to. Their players are not awarded any ICC awards unless they break all time records, sometimes not even nominated.
