India tour of Ireland, England and Scotland, 4th ODI: England v India at Manchester, Aug 30, 2007
England won by 3 wickets (with 12 balls remaining)
30 August 2007 - day/night match (50-over match)

12.55 pm Hello everybody and welcome to Cricinfo's live coverage of the fourth ODI between England and India at Old Trafford. I am Sriram Veera and will bring you all the live action today.

Pitch There is not much green grass on the track. It looks a pretty firm one. Graham Gooch reckons it is a bat-first track. Gooch says there might be a little movement with the new ball but not much.

Toss: Rahul Dravid has chosen to bat. No surprise really. Sid, our man at the ground, reminds me that Dravid has won 7 tosses in a row. Rajesh Mehta, our first feedbacker for the day, is not too chuffed with that stat. "I would rather have Mr. Dravid win 7 matches in a row than win 7 tosses in a row," he says.

The good news from an England point of view is that Paul Collingwood, who missed Wednesday's practice due to stomach cramps, has been declared fit to play. Andrew Flintoff has replaced Chris Tremlett while, for India, Ajit Agarkar comes in for Munaf Patel.

The bad news is that there has been overnight rain in Manchester and the skies remain overcast. The covers are still on the square and the groundstaff are hard at work. We should get a prompt start, though.

While we wait for the start, try your hand at the all new Slogout. Players can now score as many runs as possible in the allocated overs, rather than simply chasing a target. There are new leaderboards and new ways for users to track their own performances in My Slogout! Slogout addicts might like to know that there are a few new deliveries to master that makes the game a little harder...

All ready here. Sourav Ganguly and Sachin Tendulkar walked out to the middle to the tune of Chak De India. Hmm...

0.1

Broad to Ganguly, no run, beaten It was full in length, in the zone of temptation outside off and Ganguly had a nibble at it.

0.2

Broad to Ganguly, 1 leg bye, Good bounce on offer. This one kicked up from just short of length, and moved towards the hip. Ganguly tried to fend it off and the ball ran off the thigh pad

0.3

Broad to Tendulkar, 1 run, homing in on the off stump, a touch short of length and that allows Tendulkar to wait on the ball and open the bat-face to guide it to third man

0.4

Broad to Ganguly, FOUR, Pure timing. It landed on a length just outside off and Ganguly eased towards the line and punched it on the up. He found the gap between point and cover and the ball fairly raced away

0.5

Broad to Ganguly, no run, beaten Another lame poke outside off.

0.6

Broad to Ganguly, no run, lands on the middle and leg line, on a good length and went on straight, turned away to the on side.

3.2

Anderson to Ganguly, OUT, Done in by the short ball. Another weak pull shot from Ganguly. It was on the middle stump line and Ganguly pulled it limply to square leg. Unlike some other batsmen, he never plays the pull shot completely, sort of helps it around even as he tries to swivel and this time it looked even more half-hearted attempt than usual.
