New Zealand tour of England and Scotland, 4th ODI: England v New Zealand at The Oval, Jun 25, 2008
New Zealand won by 1 wicket (with 0 balls remaining)
25 June 2008 (50-over match)

Mills to Wright, OUT, top catch...that was only a matter of time, short ball and Wright latches onto a pull but hits it straight at short midwicket where Ross Taylor holds onto a stinging catch...Wright will actually feel that's the best he's hit one today, but it was within Taylor's range and he pulled off a blinder

LJ Wright c Taylor b Mills 18 (38m 29b 2x4 0x6) SR: 62.06

England 41/1   IR Bell 18* (27b 1x4 1x6)   KD Mills 4.5-0-15-1

Gillespie to Pietersen, OUT, gone! huge wicket for New Zealand, Pietersen falls for a duck as he goes for a pull but the ball wasn't as short as he thought and was wider outside off stump. he gets a big top edge which goes miles into the sky, Tim Southee steadies himself at mid-on and takes a good catch. New Zealand on top.

KP Pietersen c Southee b Gillespie 0 (4m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

England 44/2   IR Bell 21* (29b 1x4 1x6)   MR Gillespie 4.3-1-28-1

Southee to Bell, OUT, well well, he was looking so good, but Bell has gone! Good ball from Southee, genuine outswing and extra bounce as well. Bell was looking to run it through the slips but got the thinnest of nicks through to the keeper

IR Bell c †McCullum b Southee 46 (82m 56b 5x4 1x6) SR: 82.14

England 81/3   RS Bopara 10* (23b 1x4)   TG Southee 2.5-0-11-1

Southee to Collingwood, OUT, that's a massive breakthrough, and very well bowled. Just a hint of movement off the seam, and Collingwood's limp steer through the slips turns into a massive inside-edge onto middle stump

PD Collingwood b Southee 14 (18m 13b 3x4 0x6) SR: 107.69

England 101/4   RS Bopara 15* (35b 1x4)   TG Southee 5-0-22-2

Gillespie to Bopara, OUT, gone, and what a disappointing way to go after playing so well as Bopara chips a catch to mid-on. Looks as though it was a slower ball and he played too early, credit to the bowler there. End of a nice innings from Bopara at a crucial time

RS Bopara c Oram b Gillespie 58 (117m 78b 7x4 0x6) SR: 74.35

England 176/5   OA Shah 30* (49b 2x6)   MR Gillespie 6.2-2-33-2

Oram to Ambrose, OUT, gone, big wicket and another failure for Ambrose as he picks out deep square-leg with a pull that he never tried to keep down, but didn't hit it hard enough for a six, either

TR Ambrose c Flynn b Oram 6 (16m 12b 0x4 0x6) SR: 50.00

England 203/6   OA Shah 50* (63b 3x4 2x6)   JDP Oram 7.4-0-32-1

Mills to Swann, OUT, gone, another lazy shot from an England batsman as Swann picks out the squarer of two backward point fielders...a limp effort from Swann when Shah needed some support

GP Swann c How b Mills 3 (12m 7b 0x4 0x6) SR: 42.85

England 219/7   OA Shah 63* (71b 4x4 2x6)   KD Mills 9.1-1-43-2

Oram to Broad, 1 run, OUT, big wicket, and a superb piece of fielding from Gillespie. Nicely punched off the back foot, through the covers and Broad comes back for a second...but there's a superb throw from the deep by Gillespie which catches Shah a couple of inches short at the non-striker's end, brilliant piece of work a huge wicket

OA Shah run out 63 (95m 71b 4x4 2x6) SR: 88.73

England 221/8   SCJ Broad 2* (6b)   JDP Oram 9.1-0-41-1

Southee to Broad, OUT, gone this time, Broad is the latest to somewhat give his wicket away as he slices his drive to backward point...How makes no mistake this time and England fall away further.

SCJ Broad c How b Southee 5 (14m 11b 0x4 0x6) SR: 45.45

England 228/9   RJ Sidebottom 4* (6b)   TG Southee 9-1-38-3

Gillespie to Anderson, OUT, and the innings ends, excellent yorker jabbed into the covers...go for a single which was never on, the ball is lobbed back to Gillespie who calmly takes off the bails

JM Anderson run out 11 (12m 10b 2x4 0x6) SR: 110.00

England 245/10   RJ Sidebottom 8* (12b)   MR Gillespie 9.4-2-58-2
