80.1 to Mohammad Hafeez, and Hoggard strikes with the first ball of a spell yet again! It's a lazy shot, clipped into midwicket area, straight to Strauss. Hafeez has gone for 95 and he'll be disappointed, but it's been a great knock. England have the breakthrough at last 325/3

98.6 to Mohammad Yousuf, and what do you know? It's two in two overs! This was the one that went straight on, and a thin graze was comfortably taken by Chris Read behind the stumps. A standing ovation for Yousuf, and quite right too. He has been magnificent all tour. He's made 631 runs at 90.14. That'll do nicely 381/5

97.5 to Inzamam-ul-Haq, and there it is! The perfect line and length - finally - from Steve Harmison, and he gets his reward. Good bounce, clatters into the shoulder of the bat, and Strauss at second slip clings onto a flyer at chest-height. A genuine Harmison dismissal, and that's cheered the crowd up. 103.1 to Kamran Akmal, ooh, gottim. A good line from Harmison, finds the outside edge and that's a good catch by Collingwood, low and to his right. Finally England are finding their groove with the ball and taking catches in the slips 398/6

129.3 to Danish Kaneria, there it is! Harmison has the breakthrough, and Marcus Trescothick at first slip has his 95th catch in Test cricket. But it's not one he'll look back on with much fondness - he parried Kaneria's slash, lost sight of the ball as he toppled over, and then somehow found it nestling in his stomach as it bounced off his inner thigh and other flailing limbs. Still, they all count, and Harmison has his third wicket of the day 504/9

129.5 to Mohammad Asif, short and nasty, and Harmison has fulfilled his brief by mopping up the tail in just five deliveries. Banged into the body, Asif flinched and turned his head, and the ball ballooned off his gloves and into the hands of Alastair Cook at short leg.

14.4 to Younis Khan, gone! That’s a huge wicket, strangled down the leg-side, with the finest of edges - in fact, it came off the glove. Mahmood charged in with intent that ball and banged it in short. That's a big breakthrough for England and should pick them up a bit 70/1

115.5 to Shahid Nazir, this had been coming for a while - and an attempted hook flies up and over to Hoggard at mid-on, who makes no mistake, and that will be tea. 444/7

122.4 to Umar Gul, and there's the payback! Half a stride from Gul to a ball that pitches on the stumps and hits him halfway up. No doubt about the decision and a first wicket for Panesar, who has toiled with little luck in this innings 475/8

2.4 to Trescothick, ooh, that was a great piece of bowling. Asif came in wide of the crease to increase the angle across Trescothick who was forced to play - and he sends a thick edge through to the flying Akmal who takes a decent catch. Asif has looked threatening from the off and that wicket wasn't much of a surprise, though it will be a delight to Pakistan. 8/1

51.5 to Cook, and that's the breakthrough! A lovely yorker from Gul, Cook overbalances as he aims to play late through the leg side, and the ball swings just enough to hit him on the toe right in front of off stump. A good gritty innings, full of let-offs it has to be said, but he's given his team a fighting chance of rescuing this game. And who knows what could yet happen, if Pietersen gets stuck in ... 218/3

28.1 to Strauss, that's a massive ripper! Reminiscent of Warne to Strauss at Edgbaston last summer - almost landed outside the cut strip and fizzed back so far that Hawkeye says it would have clipped leg. That's immaterial though - Strauss was struck outside the line, so not the best decision. But a hugely deserved wicket for Kaneria. He could get a hat-ful today 115/2

64.2 to Pietersen, impetuosity killed the cat there. Pietersen lashed at a wide one, which he needn't have done, and sent a huge edge flying straight to a diving Akmal, who did well to hold that low. That will be a great fillip to Pakistan, but Pietersen will be kicking himself for not only getting out short of a century, but for getting out at such a crucial time 277/4
