Pakistan in England Test Series - 2nd Test

England v Pakistan

England won by an innings and 120 runs

Overs 1-50  | Overs 51-100

7.3

Harmison to Kamran Akmal, OUT, got him! That was vicious! Short, and nasty, absolutely reared off a good length, Akmal trying to come forward, sent back in a tangle of limbs as the ball crashed into his gloves, and Geraint Jones took a fine tumbling catch behind the stumps. England's two injured players come to the party!

Kamran Akmal c †Jones b Harmison 4 (35m 28b 0x4 0x6) SR: 14.28

Pakistan 21/1   Imran Farhat 13* (20b 1x4)   SJ Harmison 2.3-0-6-1

20.5

Panesar to Imran Farhat, OUT, and there it is! And you had to say that was coming. Massive uncertainty from the batsman, too short for the drive, and enough tweak to take an inside-edge and balloon up to short leg. Wonderful bowling from Panesar, and England have another breakthrough!

Imran Farhat c Bell b Panesar 34 (97m 66b 4x4 0x6) SR: 51.51

Pakistan 60/2   Younis Khan 13* (34b 1x4)   MS Panesar 3.5-1-8-1

32.1

Panesar to Mohammad Yousuf, OUT, What a start! Big appeal for a stumping already - and it's gone to the third umpire

Yousuf's toe is on the line ... and it's out! Big rip again from Monty, Yousuf overbalancing as he stretched forward to smother the spin, and his back foot just scraped out of the crease. Sharp work from Jones, and a massive breakthrough for England

Mohammad Yousuf st †Jones b Panesar 15 (42m 32b 2x4 0x6) SR: 46.87

Pakistan 101/3   Younis Khan 34* (71b 4x4)   MS Panesar 9.1-1-18-2

36.6

Panesar to Inzamam-ul-Haq, OUT, and another replay coming up! England think that was a catch off Inzamam's boot, and they could be right ...

Straight down onto the toe, and looped up to silly point ...

It's gone!

Massive breakthrough for England, and that could be the gamebreaker. Inzamam never looked comfortable during his stay. He was shaken up by Harmison, and outfoxed by Panesar.

Inzamam-ul-Haq c Cook b Panesar 13 (18m 19b 1x4 0x6) SR: 68.42

Pakistan 117/4   Younis Khan 37* (81b 4x4)   MS Panesar 12-1-27-3

48.6

Panesar to Younis Khan, OUT, huge appeal and gone! It’s the arm-ball. Monty Panesar strikes yet again; his fourth wicket of the innings. It would have hit the top of middle-and-leg according to Hawk-Eye. It was certainly too close to leave, as Khan did

Younis Khan lbw b Panesar 62 (171m 119b 8x4 0x6) SR: 52.10

Pakistan 161/5   Faisal Iqbal 18* (34b 1x4 1x6)   MS Panesar 18-2-46-4

54.3

Panesar to Faisal Iqbal, OUT, Monty’s got a five-for. This one turned sweetly for a simple catch to first slip

Faisal Iqbal c Trescothick b Panesar 29 (69m 54b 2x4 1x6) SR: 53.70

Pakistan 174/6   Abdul Razzaq 2* (13b)   MS Panesar 20.3-2-54-5

59.1

Harmison to Shahid Afridi, OUT, in the right area from Harmison and Afridi sends a thick outside edge straight into Strauss’s hands at catchable height at second slip. Afridi completely misjudged the length, there

Shahid Afridi c Strauss b Harmison 17 (18m 17b 2x4 1x6) SR: 100.00

Pakistan 194/7   Abdul Razzaq 3* (24b)   SJ Harmison 14.1-2-40-2

59.3

Harmison to Mohammad Sami, OUT, but that first lifter was one lifter too many! That was a horrible heave, a revolting smear across the line, thin edge and he had pirouetted a full 360 degrees before Jones took a simple catch! Two in three balls for Harmison!

Mohammad Sami c †Jones b Harmison 0 (3m 2b 0x4 0x6) SR: 0.00

Pakistan 194/8   Abdul Razzaq 3* (24b)   SJ Harmison 14.3-2-40-3

63.3

Harmison to Umar Gul, OUT, there it is! Ten in the match for Harmison, and again it's the short ball. Angling down the leg-side, Gul had a swish and Jones took a thin tickle off the gloves. Normally you'll call that a strangle, but such has been his discomfort against the short ball, it was somewhat inevitable

Umar Gul c †Jones b Harmison 13 (14m 16b 1x4 1x6) SR: 81.25

Pakistan 208/9   Abdul Razzaq 4* (32b)   SJ Harmison 16.3-3-44-4

67.1

Harmison to Abdul Razzaq, OUT, and that's the victory! Another short ball, a swirling top-edge. Jones with the gloves calls for it and hurtles forward, clutches it well, and flings it high into the air to spark the celebrations!

Abdul Razzaq c †Jones b Harmison 13 (73m 41b 2x4 0x6) SR: 31.70

Pakistan 222/10   Danish Kaneria 4* (13b 1x4)   SJ Harmison 18.1-3-57-5
