Profile

James Tredwell's progress as an offspinner with serious batting ability has been steady rather than spectacular but, after racking up more than a decade of service for Kent, his rewards started to come thick and fast. He was named county captain at the end of the 2012 season, following Rob Key's decision to stand down, and then several impressive performances for England's ODI team in India during the winter of 2012-13 reinforced his position as next cab off the rank among offspinners in the event of No. 1 Graeme Swann being either rested or injured.
