Coach

Doug Padgett, a long-serving stalwart of Yorkshire, was a correct right-hand batsman with a textbook technique who played twice for England against South Africa in the last Tests of 1960. He made little impression in either game. He made his debut for Yorkshire aged 16, and went on to pass 1000 runs on 12 occasions, with a best of 2181 in 1959. He retired in 1971, and eased into a successful coaching role with the county.
