17.1 to Umar Gul, Gul is gone, and that's among the plumbest lbws you will see. Length ball landing just outside off and heading straight for thre furniture. Gul doesn't pick the length and goes for the pull again. And misses. Easy decision for the umpire this time. 110/8

17.6 to Saeed Ajmal, another one bites the dust. Ajmal is not the best batsmen going around and I am surprised he was sent in ahead of Akhtar in the first place. He may have got a rough decision here, but he was playing a ridiculous shot to a back of a length ball outside off, trying to work it across the line with an angled bat. The shot was so poor its unlikely he could have made any contact with it. But he's given out. Replays are awaited. Late confirmation from the television commentators that the decision is lbw and not caught as was initially implied. 112/9

5.6 to Ahmed Shehzad, Southee strikes with the slower ball. Bit of a leg cutter that at 118 kph, very smart and nifty stuff. Shehzad was fooled by the lack of pace and was feeling early. He was then fooled by the deviation and ended up getting a thin edge. Good take by McGlashan tumbling forward as it died on him 58/2

7.2 to Younis Khan, Younis' T20 return has not lasted very long. Southee drops this short and wide at 138 kph and Younis is a little late on the cut as he looks to intentionally go over the top. He gets a top edge that nestles in the sweeper's hands in the deep. 62/3

7.3 to Mohammad Hafeez, Southee is on a hat-trick. Three wickets for him in four balls. Whoddathunk. Pakistan's manic start is quickly unraveling here. Nice delivery, in the corridor of uncertainty, and a touch of away movement. Hafeez pokes fatally, and gets a thin edge through to McGlashan. 62/4

7.4 to Umar Akmal, Southee by South-west! Hat-trick! Four wickets in five balls for him. Umar Akmal walks back with a wry smile on his face. That was fast and angling into the right hander who was back in the crease. It hit the pads alright, but did it hit bat first? Was it sliding down the leg? Quick appeal from the bowler. The umpire took his time and gave it out. 62/5

9.2 to Abdul Razzaq, well, nothing unusual about this delivery. Southee has picked his fifth wicket in eight balls. Normal service. This one did nothing. Back of a length and a touch outside off, Razzaq stays leaden footed in the crease and gets a neat little outside edge. McGlashan is in business again. 68/6

12.1 to Fawad Alam, Well, Southee's spell is over, but the wickets keep tumbling. Alam's gone now, trying to manufacture a pull out of nowhere as Styris continues to strangle with those off cutters. Alam went deep in the crease and looked to cross bat it, but it was not the right length. Top edge goes into the sky and lands in long on's hands 84/7

1.6 to Ryder, gone! Shoaib strikes in his first over, poor shot really, it was a shortish ball going across Ryder, who looked to play it towards midwicket with an angled bat, the edge fairly flew to Younis Khan at widish slip, who doesn't drop many in that region, and he took the chest-high chance cleanly 27/1

3.3 to Brownlie, he tries to do a Guptill, but Shoaib is too quick for him, and the attempted pull of a shortish pacy delivery, goes to Umar Akmal who takes an excellent diving catch low to his left, moved really quickly there 45/2

5.1 to Styris, the aeroplane takes off at Eden Park, Shoaib has three, 145 kph fullish delivery homing in off stump, Styris backs away and goes for an ill-advised hoick, and hears the death rattle behind him, poor shot really, Shoaib was too quick for him 55/3

14.4 to Franklin, gone! it was fast and flat, coming in sharply with the arm, Franklin backed away to cut, but even as the bat was coming down, the ball had crashed into the pads first in front of middle and leg, and umpire Billy thought about it for some time before sending Franklin on his way with the crooked finger 115/5
