Hugh Wyld was in the Harrow and Oxford XIs as a middle-order batsman, and he also played five games for Middlesex. He was a Blue in 1901, 1902 and 1903 but only made 60 runs in his six innings, and in 65 first-class innings he only passed fifty five times. He played for Buckinghamshire in the Minor Counties Championship and was also a football Blue.
