Charlotte Russell is an off-spinner who gives the ball plenty of loop and extracts fairly decent turn, too. Her performances for Diamonds in the Super Fours in 2007 led to an England call-up, and she made her debut in the Twenty20 against New Zealand in August 2007. Not bad for someone who only took up off-spin in 2005. She plays club cricket for Brighton & Hove and county cricket for Sussex alongside fellow England players Holly Colvin, Sarah Taylor, Laura Marsh and Rosalie Birch. A lower-order bat at international level, she bats in the middle order for Sussex.

For the third time this home season, the team took the lead after its opposition put up 400 batting first but the Ranchi effort was special
