Horace Bloomfield, who died at Hill Head on May 31, aged 82, made 107 not out against Northants in 1921 on his first appearance for Surrey, helping Ducat in an unfinished partnership of 232, made in less than two hours. Against Leicestershire in the next match he made 53 not out. Two more appearances in the following year concluded his first-class career. He made many runs in London club cricket.
