Keith Jones was an allrounder, a lower middle-order batsman and seam bowler, who was an ever-present between 1969 and 1974, coming late to the first-class game. He scored six fifties but never went past 57, and could be relied on to chip in with key wickets, his best return being 7 for 52 against Warwickshire in 1971, his best season with the ball as he finished with 74 wickets at 22.64. He was a good one-day bowler as well. In 1974 he took a career-best 6 for 28 against Lancashire, then the dominant one-day force, in the Gillett Cup second round but still ended on the losing side. After retiring he played for Bedfordshire and represented Minor Counties in the Benson & Hedges Cup.
