He came to note when appearing for his association team in the Webb Shield, gaining selection in the South Coast-West Moreton team for the Schaefer Shield of 1997-98. He was then selected in the South Queensland team for the match against North Queensland at Gladstone but missed selection in the Queensland Country team. He persevered and was successful in 1998-99 and again in 1999-00. He spent the northern summer of 1999 playing with Hornsey in the Yorkshire League. In September 2000 he was a member of the Queensland Country Origin team for the match against City Origin at Warwick. In the forthcoming series he is expected to be the lead Queensland bowler, taking over the position from Mick Warden who is not available this year. He was educated at Tweed Heads Primary School and Tweed River High School. His occupation is carpenter. (Warwick Torrens, December 2000)
