Edmund Harvey played four first-class games for four different sides in a three-week period in May/June 1872 while at Cambridge University as an opening bowler and lower middle-order batsman. He only bowled in three of those matches but took two five-fors. His first two outings were against thee University and in the second he took 5 for 52 for Gentlemen of England. His final appearance was his sole outing for Cambridge at Lord's where he took 5 for 22 against the MCC.
