Shane has been prominent member of NSW youth teams for the past 7 seasons, representing at Under 17, 19 and Colts level, the latter two as captain. His leadership skills have also been recognised at club level, where Sydney University made him captain in 2001-02 at the tender age of 22. A gritty middle order player, who enjoys opening in one day cricket, Shane will be one of the leaders in the NSWIS squad this season. (CricketNSW, June 2002)
