HKCA honoured in the ICC Development Program Annual Awards 2005

HKCA scooped three awards in the Asia segment of the ICC Development Program Annual Awards 2005 - the most for any country in the region. HKCA will now be nominated for the ICC Global Awards in their respective categories.

The award winners were notified via the following announcement from Sultan Rana, the ACC Development Manager.

"Asian Cricket Council today announced the regional winners of the ICC Development Program Annual Award 2005, with Hong Kong leading the way with three awards.

The winners were selected by the ACC Development personnel from the many entries recieved and will be nominated for the ICC Global Award in their relevant category.

The Regional Nominations:

  • Best Overall Cricket Devlopment Program - Hong Kong
  • Best Cricket Promotional Program - Maldives
  • Best Women's Cricket Initiative - Hong Kong
  • Best Junior Cricket Initiative - Hong Kong
  • Photo of the Year - Chinese Cricket Association
  • Best Spirit of Cricket Initiative - Thailand (Phuket)
  • Vounteer of the Year - Malik Nazar Mohammad (Qatar)
  • Life Time Service Award - Dr. Harjit Singh (Johar Cricket Council) Malaysia

On behalf of the Asian Cricket Council, I commend all the regional winners for their contribution and enthusiasm towards the game and I sincerely hope these awards will inspire others to follow.
