David Harris made little impression in the South Australia side in three seasons, but after a year away he returned in 1957-58 with 529 runs at 35.26 including six fifties. He alternated between opening and the No. 3 slot the following summer but did not recapture his form and after two matches in 1959-60 he was dropped for good.
