HRV Twenty20

Auckland v Otago

Auckland won by 74 runs

Hello and welcome to tonight's coverage of the HRV Cup match between the Auckland Aces and the Otago Volts at Eden Park in Auckland. Derek de Boorder has won the toss for the Otago Volts and will bowl first. de Boorder is citing the ODI here just over a week ago as a reason why they want to chase. Not to mention the fact that they chased 200 on the same ground last season. It's a hot and humid evening here in Auckland and the forecast is for the rain to steer clear of the 'Garden of Eden' so hopefully the weathermen are correct and we see the full compliment of 40 overs. In team news, Jono Sole gets his second start for Auckland ahead of left arm spinner Bruce Martin. Sole is a hard-hitting middle order batsman who is capable of taking the game away from the opposition in just a few overs. Meanwhile, for the Volts, right arm off spinner Mark Craig will carry the drinks. Neil Wagner is all set to bowl the first delivery.
