Profile

Scholte is a wicketkeeper and was vice-captain of the 1996 World Cup squad. He has also captained the Netherlands at times. He has been a regular choice since his debut in 1990. He bats well, sometimes as high as No. 6 but is more likely to be seen in the lower order. A very capable keeper whose ability to stand up to the wicket from a very early stage has been a great help in the qualification process of Holland during the 2001 ICC Trophy. His batting has improved over the years and has given stability to the middle order.
